HUD-Compliant Energy Audits

Energy audits to help PHAs meet HUD’s 5-year compliance.

Per 24 CFR § 965.302, every Public Housing Authority (PHA) is required to complete an energy audit for each agency-owned property at least once every five years. HUD audit standards are aligned with state requirements and equivalent to an ASHRAE Level II audit. These audits must review all relevant energy conservation measures and calculate payback periods specific to the buildings and systems in operation.

Recognizing that small and rural PHAs face unique challenges in maintaining compliance while managing limited budgets and staff capacity, Walker Blue offers a streamlined, fully remote option approach to delivering HUD-compliant energy audit reports.

What to Expect

Fully Remote Option

Our team of Licensed Professional Engineers and analysts collaborates directly with PHA facility staff to gather and validate required data. This method eliminates the need for disruptive in-unit inspections by outside personnel, helping protect staff and residents while minimizing intrusion.

State, ASHRAE & HUD Aligned

Walker Blue ensures that every report produced meets the standards of state energy offices, ASHRAE guidelines, and HUD’s compliance requirements.

Fast Turnaround

Energy audits are typically completed within 45 days or less, provided facility data is accessible.

Cost-Effective

Walker Blue offers simple, flat-rate pricing that falls below the threshold requiring a formal RFP in many authorities, making it a budget-friendly solution for small and rural PHAs.
